TeleHealth uses video technology to provide clinical and non-clinical services ranging from the exchange of health services and advice to distance education.
Clinical uses include real time videoconference transmissions of medical data and/or images for diagnosis or disease management, exchanging health services, providing education and advice on disease prevention and promotion of good health by patient monitoring and follow-up.
Non-clinical uses include distance education, such as, continuing medical education, grand rounds, and patient education; administrative uses including meetings, supervision, and presentations among TeleHealth networks; research; the exchange of online information; and health data management. |
