Housed in the BayPointe Hospital facility, the LeMoyne School is a classroom and day treatment program developed to meet the educational and therapeutic needs of severely emotionally disturbed students 6 to 18 years of age. These students are unable to maintain appropriate behaviors in the Mobile County Public School setting.
Admission requires a written psychiatric diagnosis and a referral through the Mobile County Public School System. A child/adolescent must manifest a combination of at least three criteria whose severity could prevent treatment in a less restrictive environment. LeMoyne School also offers an 8- to 10-week day treatment program during the summer months without an educational component. The Mobile County Public School System provides qualified teachers and funds the program. |
