BayPointe is located in west Mobile on a beautiful 15-acre campus. We provide short-term stabilization in an inpatient setting
and long-term treatment in a residential setting for children and adolescents exhibiting suicidal, aggressive or other unsafe behaviors. Our multidisciplinary team fosters self-control and self-regulation in a compassionate, safe environment characterized by dignity and respect.

The BayPointe Child & Adolescent Hospital cares for children 5 to 12 years of age and adolescents 13 to 18 years of age who are in psychiatric crisis and whose behaviors are life threatening, destructive or disabling. Children admitted to the acute psychiatric inpatient program are typically at great risk and can no longer be maintained safely in their communities.

- 24-hour monitoring, assessment and stabilization of psychiatric symptoms
- Individualized treatment planning that promotes the highest level of functioning
- Family involvement in evaluation and treatment process
- An average seven to 10 day length of stay

The BayPointe Child & Adolescent Residential program cares for children 5 to 12 years of age and adolescents 13 to 18 years of age who are experiencing moderate to severe emotional or behavioral disturbances and who have failed to respond to less restrictive treatment interventions. These children can no longer function in their home and community settings. They are disruptive, sometimes uncontrollable, and often a danger to themselves or others. They may have thoughts of suicide and display defiant and aggressive behaviors, which residential treatment will address.
Features of residentiall services include:
- Provision of a safe and caring, structured environment
- Psychiatric evaluation and 24-hour nursing care
- Individualized treatment planning to address clinical needs and medication management
- Direct involvement of patients, families, caregivers and other significant adults in the patient’s treatment and discharge planning.
- An average nine to 12 month length of stay
- Certification from the Alabama Department of Public Health
- Accreditation by The Joint Commission

BayPointe provides services to residents of Mobile and Washington counties as part of AltaPointe Health Systems. In addition, BayPointe also welcomes referrals for children and adolescents from other Alabama counties.
When selecting mental health services, the major concern of parents or guardians is the quality of care their child or adolescent will receive. The next important concern of that parent is how they will cover the cost of this care. BayPointe understands these concerns and will work to equip you with the information needed to answer any questions you may have about costs for services.
BayPointe Child & Adolescent Hospital accepts Medicaid, All Kids, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Tricare, and other major insurance carriers. We will work with your insurance provider to help determine your coverage.
BayPointe Child & Adolescent Residential Services contracts for services through the Alabama Department of Human Resources, the Alabama Multiple Needs Child Office or the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
