Once the Five-Star Committee Chair validates a submitted AltaPraise card, the recipient officially becomes an AltaPointe Star. Each AltaPointe Star will receive some level of recognition. The AltaPraise Review Team will review each Star’s story and select one AltaPointe “Star of the Quarter.” Stars of the Quarter will receive special recognition.
At the end of the fiscal year, Five-Star will honor a “Super Star of the Year” along with the four Stars of the Quarter and all other employees recognized as AltaPointe Stars throughout the year. For details about rewards and recognition, click here. |

Recognition for each AltaPraise Star
- Accepted AltaPraise Cards and Online AltaPraise Forms are displayed on 5SCS bulletin boards located
at AltaPointe facilities
- AltaPraise Star is featured in the monthly “Five-Star Flyer” distributed to all staff via email and print
- Each Star’s name will be posted on AltaPraise web pages – e.g., list of “January 2010 AltaPointe Stars”
- Each Star will be invited to a special Five-Star Excellence event
Rewards for AltaPraise Stars
- One certified AltaPraise card = AltaPraise Recognition Pin
- Five (5) certified AltaPraise cards = Second AltaPraise Recognition Pin
- Ten (10) certified AltaPraise cards = Third AltaPraise Recognition Pin
- Fifteen (15) certified AltaPraise cards = Fourth AltaPraise Recognition Pin
- Twenty (20) certified AltaPraise cards = Special 5-Star Recognition Pin and award
- Once a staff member reaches the Five-Star level (20 AltaPraise cards), he/she must start over at the first “Star” level
- Only two AltaPraise Recognition Pins may be awarded per quarter to each Star
- One framed 5SCS/AltaPraise certificate per quarter per Star presented at end of each quarter
- Staff supervisor of each “Star” will award AltaPraise Recognition Pin during a staff or other public meeting

Recognition of Star of the Quarter
- Star of the Quarter’s photograph and article posted on each AltaPraise bulletin board
- Article and photo featured on website
- Article and photo featured in AltaNews
- AltaPraise Five-Star Recognition Pin
- Public Relations Office will submit photo and article to news media
- Each Star of the Quarter is considered for the Super Star of the Year Award
- AltaPointe honors each Star of the Quarter at the annual Five-Star Excellence Event

Recognition of Super Star of the Year
- Super Star of the Year announced at annual Five-Star Excellence Event. This special event includes
participation by the CEO, COO, leadership team and appropriate staff members.
- Super Star will receive special award and a special gift
- Super Star of the Year’s portrait will hang on designated “AltaPraise Hall of Fame” wall.
- Super Star will receive special recognition in news media, on AltaPointe web site and publications.
